Dear Mr. Axtell:
I have supported PBS because it represents an avenue of educating and informing society to better cope with the challenges we face as a people. However, an outlet which barricades its path to a more informed public, does a disservice. Censorship of such programs as “A Brief History of Disbelief” only feeds ignorance and delays true understanding of the world we live in. Generally speaking, non believers represent rational views offsetting the emotion of the religious community. Ignoring these voices of reason, presents a distorted view of the real world around us.
We don’t have to look too far to see the effects of giving a preferential voice to the religious right. Liars and war mongers are the wolves masked in religious garments that have led us down the path of destructive war that we now face. Problems such as this, are of our own making because of stifling the free flow of enlightened ideas.A media that cannot contribute to the solutions, only promotes the problems. Your station is missing a unique opportunity to present a clearer vision.
Sincerely,
William H. Jacobs
